This last year was a little different to navigate as a Banff Wedding Photographer. The majority of my weddings were postponed due to COVID and border/travel restrictions. For those living in Canada, weddings needed to be scaled back to smaller weddings or elopements. Bailee and Darek were among many who had to change plans and make the most of the situation.
We met out at Rockies Heli to kick off their wedding day with flying high to do some mountain top photos. Fortunately, it had snowed a good amount the night before; that made for some amazing winter wedding photos. I shoot a number of heli weddings with Rockies Heli every year, but this time around Bailee and Darek hit the jackpot with views and weather. The landscape was so perfect. I could have spent the whole day there, but our adventure needed to carry on. Following their heli wedding photos, we jumped in our vehicles and made our way back into Banff National Park. We captured photos along the way, and even found a perfect spot along the river for them to pause, breathe in the scenery, and declare their wedding vows and exchange rings. We eventually made our way back into the Banff townsite where we met with family. Bailee and Darek took care of the legal portion of their wedding by having a simple ceremony next to Bow Falls in Banff. Following their wedding ceremony, they joined their family for dinner at the Fairmont Banff Springs.
If any of you have had to make changes to your big day and are now looking to keep it small and elope, I’d love to chat. Feel free to get in touch with me here.
