I think Revelstoke has became one of my new favourite places to document a helicopter wedding or a helicopter elopement.

There is so much untouched beauty that falls outside of a National or Provincial Park and Revelstoke happens to be one of those places.  Having a helicopter wedding or elopement outside of the park increases the landing possibilities because there aren’t as many rules or regulations. So when it comes to being able to land in an epic scene, it’s a lot easier to do that out in Revelstoke. Revelstoke also has some great glaciers close by that are easily accessible. If you can have glaciers in your backdrop, why not, right!?

Amy and Brandon wanted to be able to include their family for a portion of their day so they chose to have the wedding ceremony down on the ground with a nice backdrop. We knew of a small waterfall in the forest that was easily accessible; it worked perfectly for the ceremony location. Once the ceremony and family photos were done, we headed to Glacier Helicopter to go enjoy some mountain views and find a nice spot for their portraits. We found ourselves a great landing location and enjoyed our time there. Once we were done, Amy and Brandon met back up with their family for some dinner reservations and to enjoy the rest of the evening with them. It was a beautiful and simple way to plan a wedding that still included family, but also kept the day fun, uncomplicated, adventurous, and memorable for Amy and Brandon.

While I was in Revelstoke, I made a special effort to find other great areas for future couples. So if you are unsure of a location at this point, I’d highly recommend giving Revelstoke some consideration. Not only do you have stunning views easily accessible with a helicopter, but it’s a great mountain town with so much to do in terms of outdoor activities for you and your guests before and after your wedding. If you think a helicopter wedding in Revelstoke sounds like something you might like to do, reach out and we’ll chat.

“One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.” -William Feather-

One of the wedding packages I offer is an adventure-based session. Most couples that are eloping often pair this package with a helicopter and take advantage of getting some images on the ground and above the tree line. Holly and Ricky started their session in Canmore at Quarry Lake where they had a simple ceremony. We then proceeded by taking a helicopter into Kananaskis for some additional fun and photos at a higher elevation. Here are a few images from their day:
