A few weeks back I had the privilege of meeting Jake & Katie for the first time (for those who don’t know them, they are amazing wedding photographers in Tampa, FL). They are also more than just great photographers; they are a couple that brings a smile to everyone’s face! Katie and Jake are true human gems. They are the kind of people you want to surround yourself with and have as close friends. I could continue going on and on about how rad these two are, but I’ll just sum it up by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed spending the afternoon and evening with them as we adventured throughout the Rockies to document their anniversary session. Here are a few images from their adventure as we explored the Icefield Parkway in Banff National Park:

This summer I’ve had quite a few opportunities to document helicopter proposals followed by engagement sessions. I have to admit it’s always fun to come up with new way to pull it off so she has no idea that it’s going to even happen. Here are a few images from a Brian and Katlyn’s recent helicopter proposal and engagement session:
This session was a surprise helicopter proposal. We pulled it off by having Deep tell Harlene that this photographer from Darren Roberts Photography wanted to do a styled shoot on a mountain top for his website and that he had booked a helicopter to get us all there. She was game for it! Little did she know that Deep arranged the whole thing and would be dropping to one knee to propose. It worked flawlessly and after the proposal, we proceeded to do a mountain top engagement session, followed by a little champagne to celebrate.

Summer contacted me letting me know her and her fiancé Mark, were going to be travelling out to Banff for the first time and that they wanted to have their engagement photos taken while they were out here. She explained that she was asian and would likely be wearing a red dress for the session. You have no idea how excited I was to hear this! I love the tradition surrounding it and really love how red looks in the landscape. The first time I was able to shoot a red gown was out in Iceland, so needless to say I was very happy to do it again in my own back yard.
Summer and Mark arrived in Banff looking sharp and ready to go! We had a great time touring around Banff and documenting their session at Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake. Here are some of the images from that day:
